DON'T YOU JUST LOVE WINTER IN PORT FAIRY?!!Port Fairy truly is a magical winter destination. Don't forget about our fabulous Winter Weekends each month with the first being the long weekend in June. And remember all the wonderful beaches, walks, rides, cafes, restaurants, pubs, boutiques and specialty shops; all seem to take on a whole new perspective and persona during our dramatic and sensational cooler months. For a terrific weekend pop across to Koroit for the annual Irish Festival - it's not to be missed, to be sure, to be sure! FAREWELL MUTTON BIRDS...How the seasons come and go! Already the mutton birds are moving on and soon the whales will be returning. We're still receiving regular visits from our seal and sting ray friends in the Moyne River, our wallaby custodians will look after Griffiths Island until the return of the shearwaters, and of course there is always an abundance of wild life at Tower Hill.

CONFERENCESThe Boldrewood Room (named after the legendary Ralph Boldrewood author of “Robbery Under Arms” and frequenter of Seacombe House) is now fully air conditioned. For some years now the prior ballroom has been utilised as a conference room but had not been air conditioned. Now conference delegates can opt for fresh air –the original sash windows that open, (always a bonus around mid afternoon during an intense conference session) and/or climate control. A fresh paint job has also spruced up the lovely old room, which is ideal for smaller conference groups (around 20 u-shape, more theatre and classroom style - see our conference details).
YOUR SEACOMBE CREWWell – it’s my face you see through the week, ably supported at times in the morning by Marianne. We’re a multi skilled lot, all running between reception, kitchen restaurant, laundry and rooms. I mostly segue between the helm (reception and back office – the engine room), kitchen and restaurant; Marianne is the supergirl who cooks up a storm, helps out in the restaurant and reception, plus cleans rooms, and does the laundry (we have our own commercial on-site laundry). On the weekends I metamorphose into the triumvirate namely Rachel, Marianne and Janine/Peter who as my relief team are largely responsible for the maintenance of my sanity, by freeing me up for time out. Sometimes, when we’re really lucky Sue comes back to help us out. Then there is our marvellous housekeeping and laundry team. Add maintenance (Kevin), gardening (Jason) and our intrepid tradies that keep us humming along and that’s pretty much our crew. Supported of course by our loyal suppliers. |
